Frequently Asked Questions

for the kinda curious

Just a fun-loving pair of Dead Heads on a mission to make your life smell better with slow-made, unique scents to fill your space inspired by the music that brings joy to our soul (hint: the Grateful Dead).

Head scent wizard is Staci - the creative soul, maker, and lover of *all things that smell good* . Behind the curtain is none other than the super supportive man of mystery - Chip. If you're lucky, you might even catch a Chip-sighting at market events. Just don't ask him to run the POS - cuz that'll be the last you see of him.

Because we make them to make you SMILE,and FEEL GOOD - from the design to the way we curate our fragrances to uplift & elevate your mood. Wouldn't you rather feel good than go down the road feelin bad??

Well our reed diffusers happen to be the most low maintenance relationship you'll ever have. You can pretty much set 'em and forget 'em. Just make sure they stay out of direct sunlight and flip the reeds every once in a while to keep them fresh & lovely... and to let them know you care.

If you see black smoke + soot and your candle flame looks like a wacky inflatable noodle, then you need to trim that wick. Lucky for you, we've got a simple tool for that HERE!

Before every burn sesh, just trim the wick to 1/4” and let that baby burn for 3-4 hour intervals, or until a *full melt pool* has formed (*when melted wax reaches the sides of the vessel). You'll get a clean burn and have a very happy - and safe - candle every time.

Geeze - we hope not. Our scents are designed to elevate (not overpower) your everyday. Made with uniquely crafted blends of premium fragrance oils and pure essential oils free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other potentially hazardous junk often found in fragrance. However, because scent is subjective, some may find certain fragrances to be a little stronger (or even weaker) than others.

Of course not - that's how ya get hurt! But in all seriousness - our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced to create safe, sustainable products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and never tested on animals. EVAH.

Our candles are made with an organic coconut blend wax FREE of the funky stuff like - gluten, toxins, parabens & phthalates - and comes from renewable sources. All FDA approved.

Absolutely! They can also be repurposed in tons of different ways. Get creative :) We love using our vessels as planters, vases, & storage.

PRO TIP:If you're using your jar as a planter, add some small rocks or sand to the bottom before adding soil. If you're using a tin, you can use a drill to carefully create a drainage hole.

You betcha. We'll give you two to try:

  • OVEN METHOD:
Pop your candle jar in the oven at its lowest setting until any remaining wax melts. Carefully remove the jar from the oven to pour the wax into the trash, pop out the wick holder using a spoon or fork, and wipe the insides of the jar clean with a cloth. Hand wash, rinse, and dry.
  • FREEZER METHOD - *our favorite method cause you can use that last little bit of wax:
Once the wax has cooled and hardened, place your candle into the freezer until the remaining wax freezes (about 10-15 mins or so). Then carefully chip it out using a spoon - but don't toss them out yet. *Here's the cool part... you can melt the remaining chunks in you wax melter until the scent finally dissipates. Good to the last drop!

Infrequently Asked Questions

for the perpetually curious

Hmmm...that's kinda like asking your parents who their favorite child is. However, we can't speak for Chip, but Staci will ride or die for anything patchouli.

Apparently, most toilets flush in E-flat. We know you wanna test it out for yourself. Some say the most effective way is to grab your bagpipe - cuz everyone owns one ;) - and start blasting a jig. The winey, high notes of the pipes make it easier to hear the lower E-flat of the toilet.

As it turns out, it originally refers to a wave-shaped blob of toothpaste (coined by the ADA in the 90's). It's fun to say tho, isn't it?

There's a name for everything.

The Grateful Dead used the collective pseudonym for their group-written originals and arrangements, such as “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion).”
